This research project is a brand new approach to Typology via building standards including the reactions to imminent changes in building spatial design, functional hierarchy, and circulation.

New Typology bringing challenges in COVID19 reactions, adaptability, and IoT applications within the built environment.

The research focuses mainly on public building that is the most prone to changes as Transportation Architecture (HUBs, Railway Stations, Subway Stations, Airports, Ship Terminals), Architecture dedicated to Medical Services (Hospitals, Clinics, Pharmacies...), Architecture for Education (Nursery Schools, Primary Schools, Higher Education...). TYPOLOGY 2020, making a typological database of the public building design standards, tracking changes, and proposing solutions.

Despite the timeline, the name TYPOLOGY 2020 was chosen due to the challenges the year brought in Public Building Designs.
